The day after the big snowstorm
After pushing many cars out of the parking lot yesterday, and spending time shovelling a lot of snow, it's great to see the plows have done their work and we can move around more easily today. Attendance is back to normal, and we still get to enjoy the snow! Students (and staff!) are getting excited about the upcoming holiday.
Our Leadership Team is beginning an 'Art Club' next week with Kdg. to Gr. 6 students. Many students signed up for the program but we could only accommodate 2 sessions of 20 students each to start. We will try to accommodate the rest later. Its proving to be a very popular program, which was created, organized and is being run by senior students!
Snow Day at Charlton P.S
What a surprise when getting up this morning! My commute this morning was over 2.5 hours. Too long to even get in to warn everyone of the extent of the snow. Just wanted to remind everyone that you can check the yrdsb twitter account. When I arrived at school here's what I saw:
It was amazing to see so many kids enjoying themselves on the sliding hill today. Lots of smiles and laughter with recently purchased sleds, snow pants and other warm gear.
A reminder to everyone that if you purchase a sled, make sure it is a soft material. The hard plastic sleds often result in injury so we don't allow them on the hill.
